The Ecosse research and
development team, realising the need for an interconnect offering conductor
materials of even faster transmission speeds than grain-free Monocrystal™
copper - whilst absolutely maintaining its purity, clarity and sheer
brilliance - introduce the Ultra-Pure Monocrystal™ Silver Interconnect 'The
Legend'.
Suffice to say 'The
Legend' easily exceeds the requirements of the new 'super audio' formats, with
their wide dynamic range and extended frequency response.
MONOCRYSTAL™
pure silver is Ecosse's pioneering commitment to conductor material
development ensuring, uniquely, a complete lack of 'grain-boundaries' in the
signal transmission direction- impurities which would normally impede the
delicate audio or video signals and result in attenuation and distortion.
Here, a unique casting
process (extrusion and annealing) is employed to produce a 'mono' or single
crystal ultra-pure wire with significant advantages over other cables
currently available. These other cables use ordinary copper or silver, which,
no matter how few grains the manufacturer claims, have a grain barrier of
oxygen and hydrogen.
Monocrystal™ patented

to transmit audio and video of the highest quality with minimal distortion and
attenuation from grain boundaries - BECAUSE THERE ARE VIRTUALLY NO BOUNDARIES!
The Legend is our
statement interconnect yet imposes no statement of its own. Utilising
Monocrystal™ silver solid conductors of 7N purity, probably the best conductor
available at room temperature, this interconnect undoubtedly defines the
‘state of the art’ at its price. This cable is acclaimed as having an
“…incredible sound” in a recent review and deemed perversely good value for
money against interconnects at twice the price.
When wired in a
'pseudo-balanced' fashion using proprietary, non-compressing, patented PP44
Monocrystal™ shield and centre pin RCA phono plugs the screen is connected at
one end only to drain unwanted 'noise' R.F.I.
With fully balanced
equipment, 'The Legend' is fitted with our Monocrystal™ XLR plugs. (These
silver Monocrystal™ plugs are without doubt the finest plugs on the market and
make a significant contribution to sound quality.)
This is not an
inexpensive audio interconnect. However, compared to the £1000+ prices,
charged by our competitors in their high-end interconnects, and you
immediately see the cost effective benefits of Ecosse Reference Interconnects
- even at the high-end.
This interconnect, due
to its construction, is directional and an arrow on the sleeve indicates the
appropriate direction. This interconnect is particularly beneficial when used
in single-ended amplifier systems.

SE VERSION
A rigorous
reworking of quality control at assembly, including the exclusive use of
tooling to avoid cross contamination plus the use of an obscenely expensive
solder has resulted in The Legend SE, which gives an even more convincing
performance than its predecessor. The unique and patented high specification
silver plated Monocrystal™ Cu RCA and XLR plugs are, we believe, simply the
best available, and our revised cleaning cycle ensures no contamination of
contact surfaces prior to soldering.
Improvements:
1.
A more rigorous
cleaning cycle ensures contaminant-free surfaces and our pre-heat treatment
offers the perfect surfaces to apply our new solder.
2.
The join is sealed
to protect from the elements and prevent degradation.
3.
Plugs are further
treated with contact enhancer prior to packing.
4.
Supersolder™ is our
new ultra high purity lead-free silver and tin alloy solid wire- used in
conjunction with our unique, passive organic flux. Together these ensure a
joint with ultra low chemical contaminants and very high strength.
Conventional descriptions and terminology cannot do justice to the performance
