You know the old adage ‘don’t fix what’s not broken’… at Ecosse we say phish…

The ‘Best Interconnect £150+’ (What HiFi Sound and Vision? two years running -1999 and 2000/01) and ‘Editor’s Choice + Best Buy Interconnect’ (Home Entertainment Magazine) wants bettering!

Here’s how we did it:

a) our vastly superior RCA plugs have been improved again. The centre pin and shielding have been hard silver-plated for faster, smoother signal transmission (and increased bandwidth) and we’ve upped the ante by using unique, patented Monocrystal™ all-Cu Pins in both the centre ‘going’ conductor and the ‘return’ shield.

b) with regard to the cable’s topology we have (1) increased the ratio of air within the dielectric and (2) used a softer, low density PVC for the jacket.

c) use of our new Supersolder™ -ultra high purity/high silver content solders has also added significantly to the sonic benefits offered by The Maestro SE

Improvements:

1. Modified and improved version of our RCA plugs.

Deep silver–plated Monocrystal™ copper pin version of our double screened - with conjugate bracket shield- non-compressing RCA plug. The termination interface has been thoroughly reworked and has resulted in significant improvements in impedance, frequency transfer characteristic and RFI/EMIESI noise rejection.

Tighter mechanical tolerances have resulted in a gas-tight fit, all but eliminating atmospheric pollutants offering a lower impedance, gas-tight connection, a greater level of RFI/EMI/ESI noise rejection and a more linear and extended frequency transfer characteristic. Compare this Ecosse termination with types used by most of our competitors in their high end and even stratospheric interconnects and you will agree that mechanically and sonically there is no contest.

2. Cable dielectric (FPE) now contains more air, resulting in lower dielectric constant and lower dielectric loss (maximising signal propagation). Cable jacket (LDPVC) now softer, resulting in improved vibration-damping characteristics.

3. A more rigorous cleaning cycle and preheat cycle prior to soldering ensures minimum contamination of conducting surfaces.

4. Supersolder™ is our new ultra high purity silver and tin alloy solid wire- used in conjunction with our unique, passive organic flux. Together these ensure a joint with ultra low chemical contaminants and very high strength.

With the improvements to the cable construction and with the resistance interface and RFI/EMI/ESI noise and distortion significantly reduced, you will perceive more information, even greater dynamics and more solid soundstaging.
